Connection
Inbound: Grants.gov public search2 and fetchOpportunity REST APIs plus the daily XML extract (no credentials needed). Outbound: an export package of form field values, PDF attachments named to Grants.gov rules and a checklist that your AOR uploads into Workspace. ELIXIR CONSUMERS does not hold Grants.gov login credentials and does not submit on your behalf. Organizations registered for Grants.gov system-to-system (S2S) submission can feed the same package into their own S2S client.

ELIXIR CONSUMERS reads public opportunity listings through the Grants.gov search2 and fetchOpportunity APIs and the daily XML extract, so NOFO dates, Assistance Listing numbers and eligibility land in your pipeline without retyping. Your team still submits: ELIXIR CONSUMERS assembles the SF-424 family data, narrative PDFs and attachment checklist in the order your Workspace package expects, and your Authorized Organization Representative uploads and signs in Grants.gov.

Grant workflows it powers

  • Watch for a forecasted HRSA or DOJ opportunity, get alerted when it posts, and open a proposal with the NOFO already parsed.
  • Catch a close-date modification two weeks out and see which drafts and internal review dates move with it.
  • Hand the AOR a single folder of correctly named PDFs and an SF-424 data sheet the night before the deadline instead of a chain of emails.

Data security posture

  • Opportunity data comes from public endpoints; no Grants.gov account credentials are stored in ELIXIR CONSUMERS.
  • Export packages are generated inside your tenant and downloaded by a named user, with the download recorded in the audit log.
  • The AOR signature and final submission stay in Grants.gov, under your organization's eBiz POC and AOR roles.

Questions, answered

Can ELIXIR CONSUMERS submit my application to Grants.gov?

No. Grants.gov submission requires your organization's AOR. ELIXIR CONSUMERS prepares the package and your AOR uploads it in Workspace. If your organization already runs a registered S2S client, the exported data can feed that client.

Where does the opportunity data come from?

From the public Grants.gov search2 and fetchOpportunity APIs and the daily XML extract that Grants.gov publishes. These are public data sources and need no login.

Does ELIXIR CONSUMERS check Grants.gov attachment filename rules?

Yes. Exported filenames are kept short and limited to the characters Grants.gov accepts, which avoids one of the most common causes of a rejected submission.
